What is a radiology information system (RIS)?
A radiology information system (RIS) is software that runs the workflow and business side of an imaging centre: patient registration, scheduling, billing, worklists, report tracking and reporting. Scan images are stored in a PACS; the RIS manages everything around them.
What does Four17 RIS do?
Four17 RIS handles patient registration, billing on multiple tariffs, payments and receipts, scan appointments with SMS reminders, report dispatch, analytics and referral MIS, expenses, inventory, shift handover, HR attendance and a full audit trail, in one browser-based system.
Who uses Four17 RIS?

Does Four17 RIS support CGHS and other tariffs?
Yes. You keep separate rate lists, such as General and CGHS. Test codes and rates fill in automatically while billing, and insurance or CGHS numbers print on the invoice.
Does Four17 RIS connect with our MRI, CT and PACS?
Four17 RIS sends orders to modalities over HL7 and shows pending scans on the dashboard. The connection to your specific scanners and PACS is checked and configured during setup.
Where is our patient data stored?
On your own server, inside your centre. Four17 RIS runs on your network, so patient records are not kept on a third-party cloud. Staff open it in a browser on any device connected to that network.
Can we use Four17 RIS on phones and tablets?
Yes. Every screen adapts to the device and works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. Nothing has to be installed on staff devices.
Can Four17 RIS send SMS and WhatsApp messages to patients?
Yes. Appointment reminders go out by SMS on your DLT-approved templates, and bills or reports can be sent to the patient on WhatsApp.
Does Four17 RIS work with Tally?
Yes. Receipts and credit bills export as vouchers for Tally ERP 9.
